Develop Functional Strength and an Athletic Physique
Unlike bodybuilding, Olympic Style Weight lifting develops functional strength and an athletic physique. This style of training is widely used by many of today's best athletes not only to build explosive strength but also speed and coordination.
Students will learn the foundations of technique and strength training under the leadership of athletes from UTM's Olympic Weight Lifting Team, widely recognized as one of the most accomplished teams in Canada.
Recent accomplishments include five medalists from the 2005 Canadian Championships, a Commonwealth champion, a Pan-Am Games champion, and a 2004 Athens Olympian.
